Zach Dougherty Elected President of MWUAS
At the October 2024 Annual Meeting Zach Dougherty was elected President of Mountain West UAS. He succeeds long-time President and founder Taylor Albrecht in this role.
Zach is a Denver-based attorney with 3i Law in Denver, and a fourth-generation Colorado native. Zach works in 3i Law's corporate/transactional practice group, and he is also currently building 3i's drone practice area. On the commercial side, he advises small business owners, entrepreneurs and managers on a broad range of questions related to business formation, management, growth and succession. He also has extensive real estate and property law experience. Zach serves on the board of directors for Mountain West UAS (MW UAS), having worked on a number of initiatives aimed at promoting public drone safety and education over the past several years. In addition to his speaking engagements at the annual UAS Roundup, Zach has been a panelist at the last two AUVSI XPonential conferences, and he is a member the American Bar Association’s Forum on Air & Space Law. He received his law degree from Notre Dame Law School in 2008 and, before law school, worked as a business journalist in Bucharest, Romania.
Zach has been a member of MWUAS since October 2019. He was instrumental helping the group secure a grant from the Ray Foundation. He has also revealed his talents as a seminar moderator, having provided those services for the group’s UAS Roundups at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort in 2022 and 2023.
Zach hopes to continue and expand the initiatives of the group, especially along the Front Range of Colorado.
