Search & Rescue

Drones have been thought of as an indispensable tool for those involved in search & rescue (SAR) operations. In fact, many successful stories have been written about folks who have been found with the technology. But it isn’t without its drawbacks and challenges.

Bill Sample

Bill Sample is the drone lead for Chaffee County SAR South and was responsible for standing up their drone program. He is an authority on both the benefits and challenges of using drones in SAR ops. Bill will present these at our upcoming meeting on November 4, 2023.
