MWUAS attends BVHS Drone Classes

This semester Buena Vista High School has two drone classes with about 30 total students! Teacher Jay Woolmington invited Mountain West UAS members Bill Sample and Taylor Albrecht to speak to them on September 26, 2023.

Bill gave a presentation about how drones have been used in search and rescue activities. Taylor talked about the importance of keeping a logbook of flying and using checklists in operations. They also had some great giveaways courtesy of Unmanned Safety Institute!

We are delighted that BVHS has started up the program after and year hiatus and are enjoying our interaction with Mr. Woolmington and his students!
