Drone Training Park Update

The Drone Training Park Planning and Maintenance team, under the direction of Al Simpson, has been hard at work even during the fall and winter months!

Our latest obstacle is a bridge. But not just any bridge, an extraordinary one built by Al and Delmar Smith. Now folks can practice bridge inspection in close quarters. Check out these photos of the finished structure!

Member Rich Mumm works for the state and was able to secure antenna sections and equipment for the planned antenna obstacle. Taylor dropped by the facility in Golden, Colorado to pick up the sections and transport them to the Drone Training Park.

The antenna and power poles are the last two planned obstacles for the Drone Training Park. Unfortunately the County is requiring engineered drawings for these two elements before they can be approved. So we’re in search of a firm that might provide these services pro-bono. If you’re aware of such a company, please touch base with us and let us know.
